Counter Strike is a game based on half life's engine, it was first released in 1999 but gained huge popularity in the past 6 years. It is an extremely professionally and some people from all around the world get paid to play this game. It is an extremely hard and fast paced first person shooting based game and it is very addictive and attracts people with competitive spirit. Internationally every year 2 events take place, WCG(world cyber gaming) and ESWC(electronic sports world cup). Counter Strike is the star game played in these tournaments and the winners get $100,000 prize money. They take palce in diffrent places around the world each year. Last time they took place in California, USA.
